YOU ME Organizes WIPO Seminar for Clients

On Wednesday April 19, 2006, several of YOU ME¡¯s top clients were treated to a seminar held by special guest speaker, Dr. Eun-Joo Min, a Senior Legal Officer at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO).

Having joined WIPO in 2000, Dr. Min has focused mainly on management of arbitration and mediation cases, the development and implementation of new alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedures, as well as on collaborations in the development of new information technology applications in support of WIPO case administration.

This wealth of experience therefore enabled Dr. Min to lead an informative and interactive discussion focusing on issues most likely to affect Korean clients when considering arbitration and mediation procedures as an alternative to litigation. Such issues included the advantages and disadvantages of ADR, the costs of such measures, the selection of an Arbitration Panel and the format of standard Arbitration Clauses.

Additional legal information was provided by YOU ME¡¯s own international attorneys-at-law, Mr. David Kim and Mr. John S. Park. Attending clients, who were keen to have their concerns addressed, expressed delight at partaking in this collective discussion.

Due to the immense success of this event, YOU ME looks forward to hosting similar seminars in the future, thereby continuing to provide clients a service that is both interactive and informative.
