YOU ME Among Record Numbers at BIO 2006
|
BIO 2006, held at Chicago¡¯s McCormick Place from April 9-12th, was a great success, setting records with 19,479 attendees from 62 countries. There were more than 4,620 representatives for 1,476 companies, making this year¡¯s convention the largest gathering of biotechnology exhibitors in history.
Headlining the 14th annual BIO Convention were former U.S. President Bill Clinton, NBA legend Earvin ¡°Magic¡± Johnson, comedian Bernie Mac, and award-winning journalist Neil Cavuto. Also on display was the world¡¯s largest indoor cornifield, and an ethanol fueled racecar.
Included in all of this was a delegation of 250 people from Korea, of which YOU ME Patent & Law Firm was proud to be the sole Korean IP firm. YOU ME¡¯s presence was important because, as Dr. Margaret Leesong stated; ¡°This gave us great exposure to the international biotech community as a whole.¡±
Known for obtaining the first ever animal patent in Korea for a client, YOU ME¡¯s Life Sciences Team members in attendance included Dr. Leesong, as well as Ms. Sukheum Kwon, and Dr. Weonmee Park. They were on hand to provide answers to the many questions companies and foreign firms had regarding biotech and IP matters in Korea.
YOU ME left Chicago happy with the results of BIO 2006, and excited about what lies ahead for their Life Sciences Team, the biotech industry in Korea, and the global BIO community as a whole.
